Men have never lost the desire to explore – to go where no one has ever gone before.
This desire to explore frequently leads men to seek alternative ways to navigate the spinning world around them including their own potential.
Chances are, if you’re exploring this website, you’re feeling a disconnect between the life you envision and what you’re actually experiencing. And you’ve realized this disconnect shows up in the form of emotional distress, up and down relationships, and/or doubt about where your life is taking you.
What makes it even more frustrating is you’re a smart guy and you “should” be able to figure it out but all the self-help and self-discipline strategies you’ve read, continue to lead you back to the old status quo.
You need a new road-map. An unconventional one.
YOU NEED A NEW ROADMAP.
AN UNCONVENTIONAL ONE.
Helping men disrupt the status quo that weighs on them is what I do on a daily basis.
My professional career is entirely focused on the field of men’s mental and emotional health and wellness – helping deliver personalized, effective and enduring practices that enhance relationships and individual life pursuits.
My career as a licensed marriage and family therapist has allowed me to gain tremendous insight into the workings of men’s minds and the creative ways that they explore and engage in life.
I’ve also identified first-hand that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to supportive guys. The hundreds of conversations that I’ve had with guys, coupled with extensive research in the field of men’s emotional, relational and behavioral psychology backs this experience up.
As a result, I’ve developed a tailored program for men who want to live their best ‘unconventional’ life. This means free from the burdens and fully equipped to handle the disconnect and chaos that guys so frequently experience.
Working with Simon
I offer a collaborative, pragmatic and engaging way of working together. I honestly believe that you are the ultimate authority on your life and that you have the smarts and creativity to disrupt the status quo.
Ok, it’s going to take a bit of tenacity and elbow grease to bring about the change you want. However, you get to do it with an experienced and professionally trained specialist in your corner.
Trust me, I get it. I can say that because I’ve worked with guys, their partners and their families in a professional therapeutic capacity in both not-for-profit and private practice settings for the past eight years in Austin, Texas and Sydney, Australia. Before becoming a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I worked in the high-tech corporate world for over twenty years.
I also present regularly on various gender and relationship topics, including the impact of childhood adverse experiences on men’s intimate relationships, and the changing landscape of modern masculinity and fatherhood.
Only the best will do for my clients. I adopt the facilitation of positive and meaningful change for men through the adoption of empirically validated clinical models of therapy that includes; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Solution Focused Narrative Therapy. Each is considered the gold standard of psychology and psychotherapy practice.
These therapeutic practices are used to address a wide range of issues that men struggle with, including, but not limited to, ambivalence or uncertainty in life and their pursuits, adverse or maladaptive behavior, disruption and conflict within interpersonal relationships, emotional prohibition, loss or fear of loss, experiences of shame, grief and sadness, and masculine identity and personal constructs.
I also integrate contemporary neuroscience, gender-specific social and cultural dynamics, that when combined offer a robust and tailored practice to addressing men’s emotional, relational and behavior challenges.
